Agreed. If they wanted motion controls they should have waited until the next generation.

I'll stick with my DualShock 3.

Sales determine the winner. I may not like the console war, but companies are in fact competing against each other. This is how it's been done since the previous gen.

The controller itself as well as the primary the controls are simple to understand, making the experience easy and accessible for anyone. I'm not saying marketing has little to do with anything, rather what gets the eye of them and is more accessible.

The Wii console comes with the Wiimote as it's primary controller and a game, all while remaining the least expensive. The simple controls, along with other elements, makes it the most accessible. Are they, just looking for a simple...

I'm interested to know the source of this information, if you will.

I figured they would have the tech, but this is about the Wii mote and Move and which was to be first for console gaming. And this isn't about motion controls in general either. >>>>>>>&g t;>>Sony said it themselves that they were inspired by the Wiimote.<<<<<&l t;<<<< If you know Nintendo, you would know that they are heavy on secrets and don't reveal stuff ...

How long was the Move in development? To my knowledge, around 2004, if I'm not mistaken. The Wiimote was developed around 2001.

Like it or not, the final design for the Move is a Wiimote rip.

The Move is a Wiimote rip. Plain and simple.

Many 3rd parties can rot in ditch for all I care. Especially Ubi and their constant molestation on the Wii and DS library. I have said it many, many, many times that a lot of these 3rd parties are not only lazy in terms of quality in their Wii titles but fail to give any hidden gems they may have the proper attention they deserve. One could think that maybe they want their titles to bomb.

Ubi can suck D!(&.

Monolith Soft (Xenoblade) are first party to Nintendo. Punch-Out was partly made by Nintendo.

I listed you IPs other than Mario, Zelda, Metroid and some the Nintendo published. Thing is, you just don't want to accept them. Do you even own a Wii or just acting like many other loser trolls on this site? If you don't own a Wii, why the hell are you even complaining? Besides Mario, Zelda, and Metroid no matter how many times they are done are always quality titles and aren't the sa...

You see, these simple motion controls is what gets the eye of the casual/non-gamer broader audience. Keep in mind, they don't care for power if all they are looking for is a simple gaming experence. When it comes down to it, the Wii is the way to go for them when prices start getting compared. Why pay extra for pretty much the exact same experence? If (IF) Sony is indeed trying to steal the Wii's thunder then they are going to have to give the PS3 a price cut as well as bundle the controller ...

Ps_alm3k:
You just mentioning Mario, Zelda, & Metroid proved that they aren't targeting just the casuals. I must ask you, do you read Wii related articles often or just when it's something console war related? If you haven't, let me inform you. Nintendo's 2010 line up is most certainly not casual based. Hell, they are even supporting Monster Hunter Tri, a game that's not even first nor second party in a franchise that's isn't even know to be on Nintendo platforms. Nintendo wants the...

Your point? Because that wasn't mine. Also, that's just your opinion on those games, for they have single A reviews. Last I checked, that was a good thing. Anyway, I just showed news IP from Nintendo, period.

Away with you.

That's not my point. How long do you think we are going to stay on just the regular dual analog game pad? I'm not saying something in specific is going to completely take out dual analog, however, it's a fact that they are looking into more methods of controls.

5839d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I've said it before, I'll say it again: We can't stay on dual analog forever. Like it or not.

Nintendo saw this and are setting somewhat of a standard for different (mainly motion) control methods for console gaming with the inovative Wiimote.

IPs other than Mario, Zelda, Metroid
-Punch-Out
-Sin and Punishment 2
-Fire Emblem

New IPs
-Endless Ocean
-Endless Ocean 2
-Excite Truck
-ExciteBot
-XenoBlade
-The Last Story

(Just the top of my head.)

Research before talking.

I own a ps3 as well s a Wii too, but that's not my point.

The Wii's controls are simple, easy to understand (for most games anyway). The Move is basically the same thing. Only here is the thing: one comes with the console as a primary controller and comes with a game at a lower price, while the other is an add-on to a more pricey console.

You see, these simple motion controls is what gets the eye of the casual/non-gamer broader audience. Keep in mind, they don't ...

I don't think you understand, the broader audience/casuals/non-gamer don't care for power. Power ment nothing in the previous when it came to the top selling console. In fact, it seem the weakest consoles are always on top.

If you started gaming and were just looking for a machine to pick up and play, would you buy a high price console as well as the motion add-ons or the more accessible console at a far lower price? I hope now you understand.
